Nourished Landscapes · Jimboomba, QLD
Permaculture designer, consultant & workshop facilitator — growing a nourished world, one landscape at a time.
Founder of Nourished Landscapes — passionate advocate for sustainable living, food sovereignty, and the transformative power of permaculture.
I'm an experienced and qualified gardener who believes growing your own food is one of the most nourishing things you can do — for yourself, your family, and the planet.
Nourished Landscapes was founded to share everything I've learned — through workshops, property consultations, and one-on-one coaching — so others can create their own thriving, edible landscapes.
My Journey
A life shaped by gardens, community, and an unshakeable belief that food is medicine — and growing it is joy.
Early Childhood · East Germany
I grew up in a small village south of Berlin in former communist East Germany, where keeping a food garden was everyday life. From an early age I claimed a quarter of my parents' 1,000 sqm property — a thriving food garden with medicinal flowers woven among the vegetables and crops.
Teenage Years · Saxdorf
I volunteered at the locally renowned Saxdorfer Pfarrgarten — a celebrated historic garden where I deepened my plant knowledge and mastered traditional garden techniques, gaining an appreciation for the living relationship between people and place.
Formal Education
I pursued formal education in Environmental Monitoring of Soil and Water, earned a Bachelor of Horticulture, and completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment — alongside many additional specialist courses.
2016 – Present · Jimboomba, QLD
Since March 2016 I've been transforming five bare acres in Jimboomba into a Land for Wildlife property — implementing permaculture design while running a full business, and sharing every hard-won lesson through workshops and consultations.

Training & Assessment
From bare paddocks to a sustainable, food-producing, disaster-prepared homestead.
Nourished Homestead is a 5-acre Land for Wildlife property in Jimboomba — an area known as a "rain shadow", receiving far less annual rainfall than greater Brisbane. I've been implementing a full permaculture design while running a business full-time, with the aim to be off-grid and more self-sufficient.
Since I moved in March 2016, an abundance of native trees and shrubs has taken root. I've built perennial growing systems, water-harvesting earthworks, a zero-waste nursery and worm farm, a grey-water garden, and wicking beds. I also raise ducks, geese, turkeys, chickens and pigs on-site, use hot and cold smokers, and keep native and European honeybee hives.
Different regenerative planning and management techniques are applied throughout — and there is always another project in the works to add resilience to this place.
What I've Built
Each element adds another layer of resilience. There is always a project in the works.

Adds delicious cold smoke flavour to cheese, eggs, spices and meat without cooking them.

Catches irrigation water and houses 6 bathtub worm farms, closing the loop on nutrients and water.

A multi-level fruit tree forest designed to produce abundant food with minimal ongoing inputs.

Fruit trees, fodder, bananas and edible support plants grown in syntropic agroforestry succession.

Low-maintenance vegetable production using a layered soil-building mulch method.

A tiny-house inspired timber cabin nestled among the trees — accommodation for interns and visitors.

Right next to my events area where I hold monthly workshops. Powered by wood, not the grid.

A double barrel smoker for hot smoking meats and produce harvested right on the homestead.

Ducks, geese, guinea fowl and sheep — and from time to time pigs and broilers — raised with care.

An efficient, low-cost system transferring heat to a thermal mass that radiates warmth slowly with minimal emissions.

15 self-watering raised garden beds built from IBCs, keeping roots perfectly moist with minimal water.

Mounds built over decomposing wood — a self-fertilising, water-retaining system for perennial edibles.

Half the property managed through rotational grazing — mimicking natural herd movement to restore soil health.
